De bookshopsale week was een groot succes, in drie dagen waren alle mooie tijdschriften uitverkocht. Nu begint het inschrijven op abonnementen voor 2013. Neem een inschrijfformulier mee bij Stylos en lever deze weer in voor de kerstvakantie (voor 21 december!).

The bookshop sale was a great success, all the nice magazines were sold out in three days. Now the subscriptions will start for 2013. You can find the subscription form at Stylos, hand it in before the Christmas holiday (so before the 21st of December!).

AA Files - AA Files is the Architectural Association School of Architecture's journal of record. Launched in 1981 by the AA School's then chairman Alvin Boyarsky, the journal appears twice a year and is sent out to members of the Architectural Association, individual subscribers and is distributed to a global network of bookshops. Currently under the editorship of Thomas Weaver, AA Files looks to promote original and engaging writing on architecture. It does this by drawing both on the AA School’s own academic research, lecture programme, exhibitions and events, as well by a rich and eclectic mix of architectural scholarship from all over the world.

Conditions - CONDITIONS, is a new Scandinavian magazine focusing on the conditions of architecture and Urbanism. Presenting new perspectives, in the way of conceiving and analyzing designs, works and theory for architecture.
In opposition to ignorance and superficiality this magazine is conceived in order to search for knowledge and predicaments of our continuously evolving society. It is organized in a fluctuating network of agents reflecting the present globalized state of a dynamic society, economics, politics and culture which are the motivators of architecture. Through a play of thoughts in an open ended forum, predefined “facts” will be unsecured and constantly reinvented. The forum will gather the architect, client, politician and the public, a communion of ideas creating conditions for evolution.

Dash English - DASH staat voor Delft Architectural Studies on Housing Design. DASH is een nieuwe periodiek, geheel gewijd aan het woningontwerp in samenwerking met de Leerstoel Woningontwerp van de TU Delft. Naast de Nederlandse traditie en actualiteit komen de internationale ontwikkelingen aan de orde. Het woningontwerp is in Nederland nog altijd een van de grootste en belangrijkste opgaven voor architecten. De wereldwijde faam van de Nederlandse traditie van woningbouwontwerp staat in schril contrast met de huidige woningbouwpraktijk, die zich steeds meer beperkt tot een herhaling van bestaande oplossingen. Veel actuele vragen met betrekking tot onder andere verdichting, privacy of mobiliteit blijven onbeantwoord. Het nieuwe periodiek DASH wil de rijkdom van het woning bouwontwerp weer blootleggen. Door nieuwe woningtypen en schakelingen te onderzoeken en in kaart te brengen, wil nieuwe impuls geven aan het woningontwerp. Thema's die hierin aan bod komen zijn onder meer de relatie tussen openbare, collectieve en private ruimte in zowel de stad als in het gebouw, de betekenis van beeld en ruimte in het ontwerp en de ontwikkeling van opvattingen over het (woning)ontwerp in de laatste vijftig jaar.

2G - 2G offers wide-ranging monographic issues devoted to the recent work of a major contemporary architect, and to particular aspects of the work of the great masters of modern architecture.
Each issue is introduced by one or more texts by critics of international renown, who analyse and comment on the buildings making up the central section of the number. This section usually depicts, with a great profusion of illustrations and architectonic documentation, 10-15 works of the architect or the featured subject. Each issue includes unpublished works and always offers new photo-essays.
The final section, called nexus, depicts other aspects related to the work on show in texts by the architects themselves or by reputed critics. This section offers the reader the chance to find out about not just the buildings per se, but also the architects' views on their own work and on architectural practice in general by means of texts expressly written for this publication.

Elephant - Launched in November 2009, Elephant is a quarterly magazine on contemporary art and visual culture published by Frame Publishers. Marc Valli, owner of the Magma design book stores in London, is the editor in chief. The current art world is divided into the proper art world and what has been known as applied arts, or commercial art. De komende maanden gaat de Bookshopcommissie er weer voor zorgen dat de mooiste tijdschriften ook dit jaar verkrijgbaar zijn voor goede prijzen. Om de prijzen zo laag mogelijk te krijgen worden er de komende twee maanden (oktober en november) afspraken gemaakt met de uitgevers. Het kan dus zo zijn dat er nog niet bekend is hoeveel de tijdschriften gaan kosten. Wij streven er natuurlijk naar om alle prijzen hetzelfde te houden of lager te maken. Alle abonnementen worden voor een heel jaar afgesloten.

This year the Bookshop Committee will make the best deals for the most beautiful magazines again. To keep the prices as low as possible we will make deals with several publishers. This will take some time, probably up until half November. So it could well be possible that most of the prices aren’t settled yet. Anyway, you can sign up for a magazine if you are interested. That helps us to keep the prices low. All the subscriptions will be for 2012. So subscribing is only possible once a year.

Blauwe Kamer - Blauwe Kamer, tijdschrift voor landschapsontwikkeling en stedenbouw, is een uitgave van Stichting Lijn in Landschap. Het tijdschrift volgt een onafhankelijke, kritisch journalistieke koers en hanteert daarbij verschillende genres: interviews, (beeld)reportages, nieuwsberichten, portretten, analyses, kritieken, columns en recensies. Blauwe Kamer bericht over de creatieve impulsen in de ruimtelijke ontwikkeling in Nederland en regelmatig ook over ontwikkelingen in het buitenland.
Blauwe Kamer verschijnt zes maal per jaar, met een oplage van gemiddeld 3500 exemplaren en een gemiddelde omvang van 100 pagina's. Het tijdschrift wordt geheel in full colour gedrukt.
